Creating professional-looking event pages in WordPress is essential for driving engagement and ticket sales.

Whether you are hosting a workshop, a tour, or a community talk, using Elementor allows you to craft a visually appealing page while keeping your backend event data organized.

In this guide, we will walk you through the process of setting up a new event, from the initial draft to final configuration.

Access Your Dashboard

Before diving into the design, you need to create the event record in WordPress.

  1. Navigate to your dashboard: Go to your WordPress admin panel and locate the Events tab.
  2. Create a new event: Click Add New Event.
Configuring Event Details

Scroll to the event details section to set the following:

  • Date & Time: Select the start and end dates/times, ensuring your time zone is correct.
  • Venue & Organizer: Use the search fields to select the appropriate venue and organizer from your existing directory.
  • External Links: Paste your ticket or booking URL into the website field.
  • Cost: Enter the event price (or input 0 for free events).
  • Save Your Work: Click Save Draft to ensure all your backend data is locked in.
Designing with Elementor

Now that the event data is saved, you can make the page look visually engaging using Elementor.

  • Launch the Builder: Click the Edit with Elementor button at the top of the event editor.
  • Layout Your Content: Drag and drop widgets like Headings and Text Editors into the page.
  • Paste your booking/ticket URL into the Link field.
  • Navigate to the Style tab to customize the button color to match your brand (e.g., “Primary” or “Accent”).
  • Exit to WordPress: When you are happy with the design, click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the corner and select Exit to WordPress to return to the backend.
Final Touches and Publishing

Wrap up your event page to ensure it looks professional in lists and search results.

  • Set the Featured Image: On the right-hand sidebar of the WordPress editor, locate the Featured Image section. Select an image that represents your event—this will be the thumbnail for your event listing page.
  • Final Review: Double-check your event title, the date/time, and the link destination to ensure everything is accurate.
  • Publish: Once everything is verified, click Publish (or Update) to make your event live for your audience!
