Managing a WordPress site often involves tweaking content schedules or fixing minor date errors. If you need to change the publication year of a post, you don’t need to open the full editor to do it.

Here is a simple, step-by-step guide on how to change a post’s year using the “Quick Edit” feature in your WordPress Admin dashboard.

Step 1: Log in to Your Dashboard

First, you need to access the backend of your website. Navigate to your admin URL, such as https://groaustralia.com/wp-admin/.

Step 2: Navigate to All Posts

Once you are logged in, look for the Posts menu on the left-hand sidebar. From the submenu, click on All Posts to view your content list.

Step 3: Select Quick Edit

Find the specific post you want to update in the list. Hover your mouse over the post title, and a menu will appear below it. Click the Quick Edit link.

Step 4: Modify the Date

The Quick Edit menu will expand to show various post details. Locate the “Date” section and click specifically on the Year field.

Enter the new digit for the year you wish to set. For example, you might type “6” to change a date from 2025 to 2026.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Once you have corrected the year, look to the right side of the Quick Edit panel. Click the blue Update button to finalize and save the change.
