Moving offices or noticing that your map pin is slightly off? Keeping your location accurate on your website is crucial for local SEO and making sure your customers can actually find you.

If you are using the Avada WordPress theme, updating your map location is straightforward using the Avada Live Builder. This guide will walk you through the process of editing your Open Maps element step-by-step.

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Administrator access to your WordPress Dashboard.

  • The address of your new location.

Step 1: Access the Page Builder

First, you need to navigate to the specific page where your map is hosted (usually your “Contact” or “Home” page).

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard (usually at yourdomain.com/wp-admin).

  2. In the left-hand sidebar, click on All Pages.

  3. Hover over the page you wish to edit and click Live Builder. This will launch the front-end visual editor.

Step 2: Edit the Map Element

Once the Live Builder loads, scroll down to the section containing your map.

  1. Hover your mouse over the existing map.

  2. Click the Edit Element icon (it looks like a pencil/pen) located in the corner of the element or the toolbar that appears.

  3. This will open the options panel on the left side of your screen.

Step 3: Update the Address Info

Now you will update the actual data for the map marker.

  1. In the left-hand options panel, navigate to the Markers or Map Locations section.

  2. Locate the field for Address or Search.

  3. Type in your Store Name and your full Business Address.

  4. The map should auto-populate or provide a dropdown selection. Select the correct address

Step 4: Fine-Tune the Pin Location

Sometimes, the automatic address finder places the pin in the middle of the street rather than on your front door. Avada allows you to fix this manually.

  1. Look at the map preview in the main window.

  2. If the pin isn’t perfect, simply Click & Drag the icon to the exact spot you want it to appear.

  3. If you have a popup or tooltip that appears when users click the pin, you can edit that text in the options panel as well. (If you prefer a cleaner look, you can Disable the popup display in the settings).

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Once the pin is in the right spot and your address is correct:

  1. Head to the top right corner of the Live Builder toolbar.

  2. Click the Save icon (disk symbol).
